Flamenco Guitars By Harrill Guitars
IN EARLY 2017, I started dabbling in Flamenco guitar building. As an established electric guitar builder, it has long been an ambition to enter into the dark arts of acoustic building!
I have always had a passion for Flamenco guitar and all things Spanish. I spent a great deal of my youth in Andalusia, observing the culture of la Guitana (authentic Spanish gypsy culture) and the Guitareros (guitar makers) of Saville and Jerez, and having the opportunity to play with some truly inspirational guitarists in intimate environments.
My main inspiration is a gentleman by the name of Oscar Gallardo, please take the time to check him out.
So, with a head full of respect for tradition and a lifetime of inspiration, I set about building my first Flamenca! To my surprise not only did it work, but it worked well!
My ongoing work in Flamenco building finds me mixing the traditional with influences from my electric roots, constantly saying to myself "Why not!?" when flirting with non-traditional timbers, alternative headstock designs and the like.
So! You want a Flamenco Flying V?! Hummmm? Why not! Let's build one!
