"I COMMISSIONED MY Stratocaster from Roy a year or so ago and I have to say the experience was superb. Every aspect of my build was addressed with meticulous attention to detail.
I wanted something unique but classic. I was fortunate that Roy and I shared an admiration for Hank Marvin, so we both kind of knew what we were trying to achieve. I wanted a guitar that was inspired by Hank but also individual to me.
As well as the swamp ash body and maple neck which the Marvin Strat is made of, we decided on some bespoke additions and adjustments to the expected norm. A red LED fretboard was added along with red side dot markers.
My signature was added to the top of the headstock and a white pearl scratch plate was used. I also wanted some adjustments made to the neck profile, so we discussed my playing style, and Roy developed a compound profile that transitions from a soft 'V' from the early frets to a more flat relief further up the neck to make lead work more comfortable.
I've been a professional guitarist for a great many years, and after trying pretty much every style of guitar out there I'm happy that I've found my one!"
